After having watched her mother slowly bleed to death with nothing Needlepaw could do to stop it, the once bright apprentice grew cold and hardened. The last words that left her mother's dying mouth were not "I love you", but "Follow the warrior code. Always." Needlepaw took that to heart, however her unresolved trauma and anger at the world for taking her mother away has twisted her sense of what lawfulness and justice is. She follows the warrior code to the very letter, but does so in a way that also seeks to inflict misery unto others. Finding loopholes, and relishing in her idea of being untouchable, due to not technically breaking any rules.

She is often seen bullying kits and apprentices, or really anyone who she can be aggressive towards and get away with it. Her big talk is backed by competence, working hard to ensure she has proper skills in hunting and fighting, and always willing to prove someone else is inferior to her through competition. This feeling of superiority of course just fills the bottomless pit of grief and love she never received.
